How do I set arrival and leaving times?

Turn on Visit Window in a stop to set only the times you need. Arrive by limits arrival, Start after controls when the visit can begin, and Leave by includes the time spent there.

Set the stop’s time requirements

  1. Add a stop or open it through Route Actions > Edit Route.
  2. Under Timing, turn on Visit Window.
  3. Enable the controls you need: Set Arrive By, Set Leave By, or Set Earliest Start. Set the revealed Arrive by, Leave by, or Start after time.
  4. Check Time at stop, especially if the visit must finish before a Leave by deadline.
  5. Open Time zone and choose the zone for that visit. In Visit Time Zone, search City or region, or choose Use iPhone Time Zone with the displayed zone.
  6. For an arrival or leaving deadline on the following day, enable Arrive Next Day or Leave Next Day.
  7. Confirm the stop and the route, then review calculated timing and any conflict.

There is no next-day switch for Start after. Set only genuine requirements; unnecessary constraints can make the route harder to fit.

Understand the three times

TimeWhat the planner checks
Arrive byLatest physical arrival. This is checked before visit time or waiting.
Start afterEarliest time the visit can begin. Arriving sooner can add waiting.
Leave byDeadline to finish the visit. Expected visit duration and required waiting must fit before it.

For example, a 30-minute errand that must finish by 17:00 needs enough time to arrive, wait if required, and complete those 30 minutes. An arrival requirement alone does not mean the errand must be finished at that time.

Visit windows are entered by you. Radar Route does not look up business hours automatically, book appointments, or change them. Check the actual opening hours and commitments before setting times.

Check the outing day and time zone

Each stop uses the selected outing calendar date in that stop’s own time zone. Next-day arrival and leaving switches refer to the day after that date. Starting with Start Now uses the actual day; an active outing keeps that day through relaunch. Reusable plans retain clock rules for their next outing.

On a daylight-saving change, a local clock time that does not exist advances to the next valid time. A repeated clock time uses its first occurrence. Review an outing that crosses a clock change or several time zones.

Review the result before relying on it

Arrive by and Leave by can produce estimated leave-by guidance for the whole outing. An outing day, duration, or Start after on its own does not create a departure deadline. If a window is impossible, adjust its actual requirements or use timing options; the app does not silently drop the constraint.

Read leave-by recommendations, waiting, and finish estimates.
