What do route times and leave-by estimates mean?

Read the route summary

1. Open an outing from Home.
2. Review DRIVING and DISTANCE. FINISH appears when an active outing or a plan with deadlines has a finish estimate.
3. Read Itinerary for visit order, notes, requirements, estimated travel and arrival details, and road notices.
4. Check any separate Finish at destination and its driving leg.

The start and separate finish are outside the errand count. If waiting is needed, the route states how much is included in the finish time. A duration-only plan without a deadline does not display a fixed finish time before it starts.

Understand the estimated leave-by time

With Arrive by or Leave by constraints, look for Estimated leave-by time: and the visits controlling it. The estimate includes driving, intervening visits, and required waiting, not just the direct drive to the first timed stop.

1. Check that the outing day, visit duration, and deadlines reflect your real plans.
2. Use Adjust plan to revise those details if necessary.
3. If the leave-by time has passed, review timing options before assuming you can still meet every deadline.
4. Tap Start Now only when ready to begin.

With no deadline-producing requirement, Departure flexible is expected. If the app says Departure timing is not verified., recalculate before using its timing as a plan.

Allow for changes and fresh calculations

Driving and finish times are estimates. Check when they were updated and allow time for parking or delays. Traffic and Apple service results can change. An efficient feasible order is not a guarantee of the fastest possible trip, shortest distance, or arrival on time.

Saved plans may reopen without driving estimates or road geometry. These are temporary, while your places and requirements are retained. Creating and starting an outing obtains fresh estimates.
