Radar Route · Troubleshooting

Why won’t my route calculate or meet its deadlines?

First check the message and required route inputs. Missing information, unavailable Apple driving estimates, and conflicting timing rules need different fixes; a failed calculation keeps the previous saved itinerary.

If Add Stop, Done, or Search Along Route is disabled

  1. Enter a nonblank Route name.
  2. Choose the starting point, using Current Location or a confirmed place.
  3. Add and confirm at least one valid stop before trying to finish or search along the route.
  4. If End route is Another place, choose its ending place.
  5. Check the stop editor for a blank name or an invalid Visit Window, then confirm the stop and retry.

Search Along Route requires a route that is ready to plan. A draft still being edited or calculated may temporarily disable actions.

If driving estimates cannot load

Message or conditionPractical check
Apple Maps is receiving too many requestsWait for the indicated service cooldown, then retry. Avoid rapidly repeating calculations. This message is different from a confirmed offline condition.
OfflineCheck the internet connection and retry the calculation.
Service unavailable or timeoutWait briefly and retry the named action.
No driving routeCheck that the intended origin and destination are correct and reachable by driving.
Pins without road linesWait for Drawing route to finish or use Retry road details. Only the first 24 road legs are drawn on very large routes; all stops remain listed.

Planning progress can identify the active location pair and the number of travel times checked. Use Cancel Calculation in details to stop a running request, or Cancel in the builder to discard its draft. A missing road line alone does not prove that the itinerary calculation failed.

If order or prerequisites conflict

For This order breaks a stop requirement, review first/last positions and After another stop relationships. A visit cannot follow itself or form a circular chain. Re-optimize if flexible order can solve the issue, or edit the actual conflicting rule.

A skipped prerequisite is not complete. Restore and complete it, or explicitly change the dependent stop’s requirement. Immediately after requires consecutive visits; use Any time after only when other errands may fit between them.

Review ordering rules and minimum waits.

Review a timing conflict

  1. Read Timing needs attention or the failed calculation’s explanation to identify the affected visit and deadline.
  2. Tap Review timing options. The Timing options screen checks the remaining itinerary.
  3. Review each offered alternative, its changed requirement, Remaining order, and estimated finish.
  4. Tap Apply this option only after checking that the change is realistic. The app rechecks the origin, time, and estimates before applying it.
  5. If working in the builder, review the changed draft and tap Done or Plan to save. Otherwise, use Edit stops and times for a manual change, or Close to keep the existing plan.

Options can include Use updated times, Use a different stop order, a shorter visit, a later arrival or leaving deadline, or skipping a named visit with its dependents. Shorten a visit only if it can actually be completed sooner. Move a deadline only when the real appointment or closing time permits it; Radar Route cannot change that commitment.

The app checks updated times in the existing order first, then alternatives preserving requirements. More substantial changes are offered only when verified. No alternative found means its bounded search found none, not that every possible plan is mathematically impossible. Service failures are distinct from impossible requirements.

If a change has not been saved

For Your changes haven’t been saved, correct the stated problem and retry the named Done or Plan action. Keep the editor open if you need its draft. Cancel discards it.

If the outing changes while a draft, search, or timing review is open, close it and reopen the current route. For expired timing options, use Check again or reopen the review. Newer progress, the original return destination, and separate saved plans are protected from a stale proposal.
