How do I control visit duration and stop order?
Edit each stop’s Time at stop and Planning requirements. Use Automatic for a flexible visit, first or last for a fixed position, and After another stop when one errand depends on another.

Edit the visit details
- Open the route’s ellipsis control labeled Route Actions, choose Edit Route, and tap the stop. You can also set these details while adding it.
- Edit Stop name or use Change Location to choose another destination.
- Set Time at stop in five-minute increments from zero to 24 hours.
- Add parking, entry details, or a reminder under Note. Confirm the stop, then tap Done or Plan in the route editor.
Time at stop is a planning estimate. You can leave sooner or stay longer, but the visit does not complete itself when that time elapses.
Choose a first or last visit
- Under Planning requirements, open Stop order.
- Choose Automatic, Visit first, or Visit last.
- Confirm the stop and route.
Only one visit can be first and one can be last. A position already used by another stop is unavailable until you change its owner. The separate route finish remains after the errands; Visit last identifies the final errand.
Make one visit follow another
- Open After another stop.
- Choose Immediately after or Any time after, then select the earlier visit.
- Set Time between visits if you need a minimum interval.
- Confirm the stop and route. Choose Automatic in After another stop to clear the relationship.
| Relationship | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Immediately after | The two visits must be consecutive. If driving does not fill the minimum interval, the route includes waiting; another errand cannot fill that gap. |
| Any time after | The later visit must follow the earlier one, but flexible errands may fit between them. |
The minimum interval starts when the earlier visit finishes and includes driving time. The control allows up to seven days, but other outing dates and time requirements may make that interval infeasible.
Plan a drop-off and pickup at the same place
Add the address as two separate visits. Give them helpful names, then make the pickup follow the drop-off with Any time after and the required Time between visits. Set each visit’s duration separately. Duplicate names are distinguished as visit 1, visit 2, and so on when choosing relationships.
Older saved plans may show Multiple stops (saved). Those relationships remain until you replace or clear them. The current editor creates a relationship to one selected visit at a time.
Resolve conflicting requirements
Circular relationships, missing prerequisites, conflicting positions, and impossible rules are rejected. Skipping a prerequisite does not satisfy it. Restore and complete that visit, or edit the dependent rule. Deleting a stop removes relationships that reference it, so review the remaining plan.
