How do I find a place or use a Contacts address?
Use the place picker to search Apple Maps or choose a saved, recent, or Contacts address. Review the actual address before confirming a stop, especially when a business has several branches.

Search and add one stop
- In the route editor, tap Add Stop to open Add a Place.
- Enter an Address or place name. Include the town or full street address to distinguish similar results.
- Tap the intended result. If Choose Location appears, choose the correct match. The information button labeled Details for the place opens Apple’s place details without selecting a destination.
- On Stop, review Stop name, address, Time at stop, timing, planning requirements, and Note. Use Change Location if needed.
- Tap Add Stop. At larger accessibility text sizes the visible label may be Add. If a repeat warning appears, choose Add Anyway for an intentional second visit or Cancel.
- Confirm the route editor with Done or Plan.
Use Saved Places or Recent Places in the picker for a destination you have already confirmed. Searching or previewing alone does not add it to recent history. Changing a stop’s location retains its other draft fields.
Current Location is available for a starting point, not an ordinary stop or reusable saved place. Search distances are straight-line estimates from the current search location, not driving distances or detour estimates. If available, Use Current Location for Search supplies nearby context.
Choose and check a Contacts address
- From Add a Place, tap Contacts.
- Tap Enable Contacts if access has not been requested. For denied access, tap Open Settings. With limited access, Manage Contact Access lets you choose which contacts are available.
- Search Name or address. Only allowed contacts with a postal address appear. A contact with several addresses has separate labeled choices.
- Choose the desired address and inspect its address and map preview. If it is wrong or incomplete, edit the address and tap Check Address again.
- Tap Use Address. In a route, confirm the normal stop editor with Add Stop and then save the route. When adding from Places, complete Save Place.
Radar Route reads names and postal addresses, does not write to Contacts, and does not import the entire address book. A selected address is sent to Apple Maps to resolve its location. Only confirmed destinations are retained.
Correcting the preview does not change the person’s address in the Contacts app. Revoking access hides inaccessible Contacts entries, but previously confirmed destinations remain separate Radar Route data.
Confirm an address that needs more detail
- If Complete Address appears, enter the street number, town or city, and state or postcode.
- Tap Check Address.
- Inspect the matched address and map, then tap Use Address only when correct.
An ambiguous or incomplete result is not silently substituted for another house. If no result appears, refine the name or town, check the full address, and use Try Again when a service error offers it.
Find a missing Contacts entry
- Check that the person has a nonblank postal address, not only a phone number or email.
- For limited permission, use Manage Contact Access and allow the person.
- For denied permission, use Open Settings. If access is restricted on the iPhone, the app reports that restriction.
- Use another name or address search, or enter the destination directly without Contacts.
