Radar Route · Getting Started

How do I follow and finish a route?

Start Now begins a planned outing and its first leg. Arrival records where you are, but you must tap Complete Stop when each ordinary errand is finished, then start the next leg explicitly.

Start and choose directions

  1. Open the planned outing from Home, review it, and tap Start Now. Radar Route refreshes estimates and starts the first leg’s location session if allowed.
  2. For turn-by-turn directions during that leg, tap Open Navigation. Apple Maps opens for the current destination.
  3. After completing or skipping a visit, tap Start Next Leg. Choose With navigation to track and open Maps, or Without navigation to track while staying in Radar Route. Cancel leaves the next leg unstarted.

Radar Route hands off one current destination at a time. Apple Maps controls its own road choice and directions. Returning from Maps does not complete a visit, and Complete Stop does not end Maps navigation.

Record arrival and finish the errand

  1. Read the active card’s NEXT STOP or AT STOP label, place, address, note, and requirements.
  2. When arrival is detected, the stop remains current. If detection is unavailable or misses your arrival, tap I’ve arrived.
  3. When the errand is finished, tap Complete Stop. This is required for every ordinary stop, including a zero-duration stop or one without timing requirements.
  4. Tap Start Next Leg when you are ready to leave for the next destination.

You can complete a visit manually without detected arrival, subject to prerequisite and earliest-start rules. Reaching the estimated duration does not complete it automatically. A late real visit can still be recorded. If completion is blocked, read the requirement message before changing the stop.

The visited count counts completed errands. During a tracked leg, the progress display can show an estimated percentage and road distance remaining. It needs fresh precise location and Radar Route’s road geometry, so it may differ from Apple Maps.

Skip a visit or restore it

  1. Use Skip on the active card to omit the current visit.
  2. To bring it back, touch and hold that skipped row in Itinerary and choose Restore Stop.
  3. Review remaining requirements and timing before continuing.

Skipping a prerequisite does not satisfy it. Restore and complete that visit, or edit the dependent requirement. Completed and skipped visits are preserved when estimates refresh.

Finish the outing or end it early

If the route returns to its start or another place, the card changes to FINAL DESTINATION after the errands. Start that final leg. Reliable detected arrival can finish the route there, or tap Finish Route manually.

With Last stop, completing or skipping the last remaining visit ends the outing without a separate endpoint leg. To stop an active outing early, tap End Route and confirm. Your progress is kept and the cancelled outing appears in Routes under Recent.

Arrival stops that leg’s arrival detection. Optional departure reminders can keep location monitoring active between visits while outstanding deadlines remain. After a cold launch, open the active outing and explicitly start its current leg or resume guidance; tracking does not restart automatically.

Understand departure reminders and resumed guidance.
