Why isn’t location, arrival, or navigation updating?
Radar Route needs an explicitly started leg and usable precise location for automatic progress and arrival. You can choose addresses and record arrival and completion manually when location is unavailable.

Check that the current leg has started
- Open the active outing from Home.
- If Start Next Leg appears, tap it and choose With navigation or Without navigation.
- Read the location or progress message on the active card.
- After a cold launch, start the current leg or explicitly resume guidance again.
After you complete or skip a visit, the next leg does not start automatically. A location permission grant alone also does not start tracking. A live marker is hidden when its fix is invalid or stale; the saved starting point is not used as a substitute.
If location is off, approximate, or unavailable
- Open Home’s Settings and tap Open iPhone Settings. Review location access.
- If Precise Location is off appears and you want automatic arrival, enable precise access.
- Return to the outing and explicitly start its current leg.
- If location remains unavailable, choose an address for planning and record progress manually.
For a calculation that needs an origin, use Choose Starting Place when offered. In an active route editor, Plan remaining stops from lets you choose where you are now without changing the original return point.
Waiting for precise location or updating progress means the app lacks a usable fresh fix. Progress and arrival depend on GPS and the app’s road geometry; they are not Apple Maps’ own progress feed.
If you arrived but the next visit did not begin
Tap I’ve arrived if arrival was missed. When the errand is finished, tap Complete Stop, then Start Next Leg. Every ordinary visit requires explicit completion, including zero-duration visits. An automatic arrival or elapsed duration does not finish the errand.
If Complete Stop is blocked, read the earliest-start or prerequisite message. Resolve that requirement before recording completion.
If Apple Maps opens the wrong active guidance
- From the next-leg sheet or Route Actions, choose Replace active Maps route.
- In Maps, confirm End Navigation.
- Tap Go when Maps offers it.
Replacement uses Maps’ driving settings. Ordinary Open Navigation requests the current destination with Radar Route’s driving preferences, but Maps can apply its own settings and road choice. The handoff does not transfer an exact full multi-stop path.
For Apple Maps couldn’t open. Try again., retry Open Navigation. Opening or closing Maps does not complete your stop, and Complete Stop cannot end Maps’ guidance. Radar Route does not receive Apple Maps’ arrival announcement.
If the issue is nearby search or reminders
Without nearby context, type the destination’s town or full address. If available, use Use Current Location for Search. Search-result distances are straight-line estimates, not driving distances.
Check unavailable notifications, stale guidance, and paused reminders.
