How do I temporarily stop reversal and return to macOS scrolling?

Quit Radar Mouse to stop its scroll processing without changing your saved directions. Choose Natural for a device when you want to save a choice that leaves its incoming scrolling unchanged.

Stop temporarily without changing your choices

  1. Right-click the Radar Mouse menu bar icon, or Control-click it.
  2. Choose Quit Radar Mouse.
  3. Use your mouse or trackpad. Radar Mouse is no longer reversing scrolling.
  4. Open the installed app again when you want to resume its saved choices.

Closing the control panel only hides it; it does not stop reversal. There is no separate Pause switch. Quitting does not change the macOS Natural scrolling preference, the native built-in trackpad option, or Launch at Login.

Compare the same movement with macOS

  1. Open a long document or webpage.
  2. Quit Radar Mouse and scroll vertically with the affected device. Note which way the content moves.
  3. Reopen Radar Mouse and click its menu bar icon.
  4. Choose Natural for that device and repeat the movement. This choice is intended to preserve the incoming macOS direction.
  5. Choose Reverse and repeat. This choice should produce the opposite vertical direction when the device is matched and reversal is working.

Keep the macOS Natural scrolling preference steady during the comparison. If results do not match these choices, use scroll-control troubleshooting. If several devices are connected, check device-source limits too.

Make devices follow the system direction

Click Natural under every connected device you want to leave unchanged. The choice is saved for each recognized identity. When all connected devices are on Natural, Radar Mouse stops its scroll reversal processing, while the menu bar app remains open.

Include the built-in trackpad even if its direction row is hidden: temporarily turn Disable trackpad off, select Natural, then turn the native shortcut back on if you still want the trackpad ignored while mousing. A hidden trackpad row can retain a Reverse choice, which keeps scroll processing active.

A newly connected device without a saved choice still receives its kind’s default. A new mouse can therefore start on Reverse. Configure it too if your goal is to keep the system direction everywhere.

To restore the internal trackpad while a mouse is connected, separately turn Disable trackpad off or change the native macOS option.
