How do I scroll and adjust the teleprompter?
Use Play/Pause for automatic scrolling, drag to read manually, and adjust the panel with its sliders and resize handle.

Start or pause scrolling
- Load a script with Save & Use or Use Script.
- Tap the panel's Play button, Start scrolling.
- Wait for the 3, 2, 1 countdown. Scrolling starts after it ends.
- Tap Pause, Pause scrolling, when needed. During the countdown, the same button is Cancel countdown.
- Tap Play again to resume after another countdown.
Loading a script does not play it automatically. The countdown and Play/Pause control scroll the script only; they never start or stop camera recording. To read on camera, start the video shutter separately, then start scrolling when ready.
At the end of the script, scrolling stops. Play from the end returns to the top and starts a new countdown. There is no separate Restart button. For another starting point, pause and drag the text manually before pressing Play.
Read manually
Drag the script text up or down like a normal scrolling view. A manual scroll interaction pauses automatic scrolling/countdown and it stays paused when you release. Tap Play to resume. Tapping the text is not a Play shortcut and does not focus the camera behind it.
Adjust appearance and speed
- Tap the slider-shaped Teleprompter settings button in the panel.
- In Teleprompter Settings, adjust the sliders:
- Drag down on the settings sheet to dismiss it when finished.
- Text size: 16 to 40 points.
- Panel opacity: 25% to 85%. This changes the background, while text remains opaque.
- Scroll speed: five steps, 1 slowest through 5 fastest, indicated by tortoise/hare symbols.
The slider rows are primarily symbols rather than printed labels; the labels above are their VoiceOver names. These preferences persist. New-install defaults are 24-point text, 55% background opacity, and speed 2 of 5.
Drag the slim handle at the bottom of the teleprompter panel to resize its height. Its top stays anchored; the panel cannot be moved freely around the screen. Height is limited to the available area above the landscape window and shutter, so Photo mode or a smaller display may leave less room. With VoiceOver, adjust Teleprompter height to increase or decrease its height.
While recording
You can pause/play, open teleprompter settings, change speed, or open Scripts to load a different script without stopping the take. The Scripts sheet shows a red REC strip and elapsed time. Return to the camera to reach Stop recording. Changing scripts starts the new text at the top.
Tap the viewfinder's Teleprompter button to hide the panel; this pauses scrolling and closes its settings. Camera recording continues. Expanded landscape temporarily hides the panel and its visible clock; collapsing restores the existing model state. Do not assume the script continues advancing while it is covered by expanded landscape.
The text never appears in saved photos or either saved video. Voice-follow scrolling and speech recognition are not current features.
