How do I create, edit, and choose a teleprompter script?
Write a local script, save it, and load it into the viewfinder.

Create your first script
- Tap the page-shaped Teleprompter button at the bottom left of the viewfinder.
- With no script selected, Scripts opens. The empty state says Create a Script and explains that the text is visible only to you and will not appear in the video.
- Tap New Script.
- Enter the words in the large script editor, called Script by VoiceOver. Optionally enter the title field, Script Title in VoiceOver. Its placeholder is Untitled Script, which is also the saved name when the title is blank.
- Tap Save & Use to save and load it into the teleprompter, returning to the camera. Or tap Save to keep it in the library and return to the list without selecting it.
The editor's action buttons stay above the keyboard. A script must contain non-whitespace text to use it; Save & Use/Use Script is disabled for an empty body. A titled empty script can be saved for later editing, but an entirely blank new draft is not retained as a script.
Read, edit, or choose another script
- From the visible panel, tap its list-shaped Scripts button.
- Tap a script row to open it for reading or editing. Opening a row alone does not change the active teleprompter script.
- Tap Use Script for an unchanged saved script, or Save & Use after edits, to load it and return to the camera.
- Tap Save if you only want to keep changes and return to the library.
- Tap Done in the library to return without making a new selection.
Scripts are listed by newest edit first, with a first-line preview and an approximate reading-time estimate. The estimate is based on word count, not the actual scroll-speed setting or a promise about spoken duration.
Leave the editor or delete a script
If you go Back with unsaved changes, Discard Changes? offers Discard Changes or Keep Editing. Use Save before leaving if you want those edits. Swipe-down dismissal is blocked while meaningful editor changes are unsaved.
Swipe left on a saved script and choose Delete to remove it. Deleting the selected script clears that selection and hides its panel after the library closes. Recovered draft rows are separate; delete a corresponding draft too if you want to remove both saved and unsaved local versions.
The last selected script is remembered for later launches, but the panel starts hidden. Tap Teleprompter to show it. Hiding and showing the same unchanged script during the current session preserves its reading position. A changed script body or a different script starts at the top.
