How do I recover script edits or fix script problems?
Open Recovered Drafts for unsaved edits, or retry saving while the editor still holds your text.

Restore unsaved words
When the app leaves the foreground with meaningful unsaved editor changes, it tries to store a local recovery draft. This is a recovery aid, not an autosave replacement or a guarantee for sudden process failure.
- Open Scripts.
- Look above the saved scripts for Recovered Draft or Recovered Drafts. Rows say Unsaved changes: tap to keep editing.
- Tap the relevant recovered row.
- Review the restored title and body, then choose Save, Save & Use, or continue editing.
- To reject those unsaved words, go Back and choose Discard Changes, or swipe left on the recovered row and tap Delete.
Each draft belongs to its own script. Saving or discarding that script's recovered edits settles its draft when storage operations succeed; working on another script does not settle it. A saved script and its recovered draft are separate copies, so deleting one need not remove the other.
Save or delete fails
Could not save this script. Try again. keeps the editor and typed text available. Tap OK, preserve your text, check device storage, and retry the same Save/Use action. Could not delete this script. Try again. leaves the script/selection as they were; retry rather than assuming deletion succeeded.
If the expected script is missing, check the recovered section and whether the saved script was deleted. Unreadable records are skipped when the library loads; the app has no cloud script library, import/export control, or in-app restore-from-backup button. Device backup availability is controlled by Apple. Avoid deleting the app to troubleshoot while it holds scripts you need.
The script will not scroll or the panel disappears
- Save & Use/Use Script is disabled: add non-whitespace words to the body; the title alone is insufficient.
- This script has no text yet. Tap Scripts to pick or edit one.: choose or edit a script with text.
- Text stays still after loading: press Play and allow the countdown to finish. Loading, recording start, and text taps do not start scrolling.
- Scrolling stopped after dragging: press Play again; manual scrolling leaves playback paused.
- A short script does not move: it may already fit in the panel. Reduce panel height or use a longer script if you need scrolling.
- The panel vanished after visiting Scripts: deleting the selected script clears/hides it. Select another with Use Script.
- The panel vanished while checking landscape: collapse the expanded landscape preview, which temporarily covers it.
