How do I capture the rear and selfie cameras together?
Select which direction supplies portrait and which supplies landscape, then capture one pair.

Choose the arrangement
- While idle, open Camera controls.
- Under Camera setup, select Rear portrait + Selfie landscape or Selfie portrait + Rear landscape.
- Wait for the drawer to close and both fresh previews to appear. A brief assignment confirmation names the rear lens and which view uses Selfie.
- Check both views, select Photo mode or Video mode, and use the normal shutter.
- To swap directions, stop/save any take first, then reopen Camera controls and choose the other arrangement. To exit, choose Rear camera or Selfie.
These choices appear only when the iPhone reports a supported rear/front pairing. They can be available on a phone that does not support two rear cameras at once. The arrangement is two separate outputs, not a front/rear composite in one file.
Choose the rear lens for each direction
- Tap Settings, then find Both Cameras.
- Open Rear lens when portrait to choose the rear lens used when rear supplies portrait.
- Open Rear lens when landscape to choose the rear lens used when rear supplies landscape.
- Choose a listed compatible lens, or Use Rear setting to inherit the rear configuration when entering Both.
- Set Record in 4K within Both Cameras if supported, or leave it off for HD.
- Tap Done and check the live assignment.
Each rear-role preference is independent. Both can use the same rear lens preference without swapping values, because only one of those rear roles is active at a time. Both settings do not overwrite the separate Rear Camera or Front Camera quality preference. Linked Zoom does not link rear and selfie cameras; each can zoom and focus separately.
Use Rear setting follows the applicable rear lens choices rather than being a permanent fixed lens. In rear Dual Lens it inherits the assigned portrait/landscape lens; for single-camera video it can inherit the active physical rear lens. If inheritance or a restored preference names a lens that cannot pair with Selfie, select a compatible explicit lens.
If the arrangement is refused
Read the Error. It can direct you to Both Cameras to choose another rear lens, indicate photos cannot run together, or ask for HD. The app attempts to restore the previous camera setup and names what was restored. If restoration fails, use Restart Camera when offered.
For Both photos, the front flash is suppressed. A supported rear flash can delay the rear shot; Flash → Off is the practical choice for closer photo timing.
